We know just how daunting it can be to move away from home to a new environment – that's because we've all made similar transitions. Our dedicated student team all studied at the University of Portsmouth and are on hand to help support you during your time in Portsmouth. Our Sunday meetings take place just a stone’s throw from the main campus, and we hold regular socials and small group meetings across the city throughout the year.
What Can We Do For You?
Solent is a thriving student hub where you will probably make lifelong friends, and receive support from those who've been there before you. Our student team would like to help you with all matters uni-related – from filling-in forms to pastoral support to recommending great places to grab some lunch.
Best of all, we have a jam-packed social calendar throughout the year that includes:
- Weekly pub socials for getting to know new friends;
- Student Alpha Courses where you can ask us some of life’s unanswered questions;
- Weekends away and discounted conference tickets
- Weekly life-changing small group meetings
We also run monthly student-led worship meetings where we crank up the volume and enjoy teaching on topics especially tailored towards student life.

Solent is here for people in Portsmouth. As a student in Solent, you will have the chance to help make a difference in your new City, and in your new church. From helping to run a student life group, to joining a worship team or to helping with our numerous community projects – there is plenty for you to get your teeth into!
